Greetings from your friendly neighborhood FFS archivist and historian!
With, 536, yes, count 'em, 536 movies nominated but never selected in our five-year run, navigating the nominations Forum this week is a Marathon. One might call the task of choosing only one nomination Herculean, Sisyphean, Olympian, Eristic, Hectoring, Labryinthine, Lucullan, Procrustean, Titanic, or any one of several other Classical mythology-derived terms that I got tired of looking up just now.
But, in a Zealous Philippic against the Jovial spirit of Myrmidonically accepting the Hermetic process by which our Brain Trust provides its Chimerical Aegis, I shall not Panic nor be Laconic nor submit to Lethargy. Instead, I shall continue this Pyrrhic Odyssey and Tantalize us with Venerated nominees of ancient eras past, praying that Fortune and Fate may quell the Brain Trust's Furies, as our FFS membership considers the Halcyon days of cinematic Nectar and the Palladia of Stentorian yet Stygian Chaos that results from choosing the Ambrosia of a single Siren film each fortnight.
Behold: multiple Elysian nominees!
